What you need to know

What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a unique form of medicine that stimulates the body’s innate ability to heal. There are thousands of different homeopathic remedies made from highly diluted natural substances, including plants, minerals, or animals. Homeopathy is a gentle, non-toxic, and effective therapy that can be used for acute and chronic conditions. It is currently used by more that 300 million people in over 70 countries worldwide. It is safe for all ages, from infants to elderly, even pregnant or nursing women. The remedies are so dilute that there is little to none of the original medicine remaining. While the exact mechanism of action is unknown, it is thought that a subtle energetic signal remains which gently stimulates the body into balance naturally.

How it works.

Homeopathy works differently than pharmaceutical drugs and herbal medicines. The remedies themselves do not directly target and suppress certain symptoms. Rather, they carry information that affects the whole body at a very deep level, gently stimulating the organism back into balance. In Classical Homeopathy, a single remedy is chosen based on the person’s entire symptom picture. The physical, mental, and emotional symptoms provide information about the current state of imbalance within the person being treated. As that state changes over time, the remedy needed will change with it. While healing with homeopathy can take time, it often provides long term dramatic improvements in overall health.

How to prepare for a homeopathic intake.

A homeopathic intake can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours and is much more in depth than other doctors’ appointments. In order to find the best remedy, the homeopath must collect highly specific details about the person’s symptoms. We all experience symptoms in a unique way, even if we have been diagnosed with the same disease. It is these unique characteristics of the symptoms that are the most important in finding the best remedy for that individual in their current state. The process of healing can take time, and adjustments to the prescribed remedy are often needed. Follow ups every 3-6 weeks may be required to assess how the individual is reacting to their current remedy and potency of the homeopathic medicine.
